Vocational Training Centre
We are delighted to announce that construction is underway for our new program teaching vocational skills to the most
disadvantaged youth in the community. This incredible project has been a dream of ours for 3 years and we are thrilled that
it is now becoming reality!
There is a huge demand for skilled hospitality staff and trades people in Siem Reap, the gateway to the Angkor temples
and boasts approximately 200 Hotels and 250 guesthouses, with numbers increasing rapidly.
Due to high rates of poverty, many young people have been forced to drop out of formal education at grade 2 or 3 level, or
never had the chance to begin. Without an education these young people are vulnerable to the sex trade, modern day slav-
ery (MDS) and human trafficking. While it may be too late to begin a conventional academic education, it is imperative that
these young people are given an opportunity in life.
After 1 year the student will graduate from Feeding Dreams Vocational Training Centre with a qualification certified by the
Ministry of Education. We have partnered with several 5 star hotels where our students will intern for 3 months prior to join-
ing the workforce. This program will be life-changing for the students and their families and we are incredibly thankful to
everyone who have helped get the project off the ground.

Dreams for Cambodia!

ers, cooks, cleaners, or Community Support Workers, and commit to supporting their salary for a period of 12

This is a shining example of how many of our families are winning the battle of climbing out of poverty, and working hard to
raise their children with good health and education.
Congrats on the 2 new little darlings, and our Education and Community Support programs.
Congratulations to our special girls
Hany and Hanna and family on the
birth of their new twin siblings - 1 boy 1
girl. After 4 girls, finally a son for Dad.
When we first met the eldest daughter
Hanna, she was not even in school, as
she had to stay home and mind the
youngest daughter while both parents
worked. Thanks to very kind sponsors,
Hany and Hanna are now supported,
and both attend formal Khmer school
every morning, and our English/Math/
Morality school every afternoon togeth-
er with their younger sisters.
Their Mum sells veges in the market
and their Dad is a Public Motorbike
driver, both illiterate. Mum is very hap-
py that Feeding Dreams have now
organized birth control, by way of a
birth control bar implant for her.

THE LOSS OF OUR LITTLE ANGEL “YOT SONA
It is with much sadness that we make known ‘the loss of another little Angel, Yot Sona’, taken from this world on
Thursday 5th November 2015.
Sona, 6 years old was the victim of a tragic accident, whilst playing with his elder brother Theara in front of the
house across the road from their home. A workman was working on the large iron gate at the property and asked
young Theara to help him push the gate. However one half of the
gate fell over onto where young Sona was sitting, crushing him into
the concrete. Sona’s parents quickly rushed him to hospital by mo-
torbike, sadly he died on the way.
Sona was a cheeky little minx, always smiling and happy, attending
our Kinder Class. Before enrolling at Feeding Dreams Sona spent
1 month in hospital suffering chronic malnutrition. His life and his
family’s changed dramatically after enrolling at Feeding Dreams,
and finding kind sponsors to support the boys education and food.
Sona was cremated on Friday at a local pagoda. His mum also
took all of his school belongings, books, school bag, uniform etc
and burned them with her son – this act of dedication aligns with
the Buddhist belief of helping little Sona transition to be reborn
again into a more prosperous and educated life.
We thank Peter and Carolyn Morris for their sponsorship and love
of Sona and Theara over the years, and greatly thank them for
their financial donation for his funeral.
